Problem:
New state law and closing Career Center offices required a new web application to be developed to allow for the Unemployed to search for and apply for Jobs in the State Job Bank system. Client needed an experienced .NET developer to lead a development team of Progress programmers in a multimillion dollar .NET development effort.
Client also in the middle of 4 year re-write of Unemployment Tax Insurance application in need of leadership and direction.
Solution
- Consult with Project Management team to assist with hiring qualified .NET contract programmers
- Consult with Development Team to assist with SOA concepts, and the overall direction of the internal development move to SOA
- Consult with development team to mentor and train staff on .NET Technologies including C#, VB.NET and WCF
- Consult with third party vendors to address web application security
- Assist in C# and VB.NET development at critical states of the project to ensure timelines were being addressed
- Design deployment strategy for initial release and future releases including code management for all Oracle database objects
